FTMC’s admission process goes beyond simply looking for academically accomplished students. For each freshman class, we bring together a varied mix of high-achieving, intellectually gifted students from diverse backgrounds to create an exceptional learning community. We care about what students have accomplished in and out of the classroom. The process is highly selective. In recent years, we've offered admission to only about 10 percent of applicants.

As you prepare your application, help us to appreciate your talents, academic accomplishments and personal achievements. We'll ask for your transcript and recommendations, and we will want to know more than just the statistics in your file. Tell us your story. Show us what’s special about you. Tell us how you would seize the academic and non-academic opportunities at FTMC and contribute to the FTMC community. Above all, please write in a style that reflects your own voice.

We accept both paper applications and online applications. You may choose any of the following application formats: 
 

• FTMC’s Online Application: Fill out your application online using a secure log-in. The application also requires the Secondary School Report and Teacher Reference forms. These forms cannot be submitted online, but are available as downloadable PDFs.
  
   
• The Common Application — online version: Submit both the Common Application and the FTMC Supplement using a secure log-in. Make sure you follow the instructions for submitting the Common Application.
  
   
• FTMC’s Paper Application: Download a printable PDF of our application form or request a printed application booklet.
  
   
• The Common Application — paper version: If you apply using the Common Application you must also submit the FTMC Supplement, which is available in PDF format. Your guidance counselor can provide you with the Common Application, or you may download a PDF version of the Common Application. Be sure to follow the instructions for submitting the Common Application.

If you have already started a college or university degree program elsewhere, you are not eligible to apply for admission to FTMC. We accept students who will begin their freshman year in the fall. FTMC does not offer spring semester entry or a transfer admission option.
